Music Video CCR

In our music video we tried to imitate several traditions from other music video genres and production styles for our music video. We observed various elements during our investigation, including camera angles, attire, accessories, lighting, and the general mood of the music and video. We compared our song with other enthusiastic songs that were extremely comparable to ours, finding that they had the same loud costumes, tangible props, and camera movement because our music was specifically more lively and exciting. Using what resources we had, we attempted to replicate these characteristics as closely as possible. Our music generally had a plot that we could easily follow along with lyric by lyric. It talked about the experience of moving to Los Angeles and being in such a strange and frightening place, but then finding solace in music and a sense of belonging. The way in which our video's primary character, Billi, conveyed her emotions helped to solidify this convention and conv

The project is finally done for the most part. We finished up the editing which was probably the most difficult part to do. It took a lot of lining up the song to the clips as well as putting all the clips in order. We also had to adjust a lot of the lengths of the clips. During filming I made each clip a little bit longer than needed so that if we needed to cut it during editing it wouldn’t be an issue. This made all of our lives a lot easier because we could chop up clips the way we needed them to fit into the video without having to go back and redo a scene to make it fit. This definitely saved us a lot of time. We also had to add things in editing that we couldn’t film which also made our video look more professional which was a good touch.

My group has now finished filming our music video. It only took a total of three sessions and we didn’t even use the video from the first session. So really it only took us two sessions to finish all the filming. Now all that is left is the editing which is going to be a pretty big part of this project that will really bring the whole thing together. The second session went pretty much just as smooth as the first. The only small problem we had was that we missed one small scene after we had finished filming but it only took maybe 20 minutes to go back and add it.

Over the weekend we filmed most of our music video. It didn’t take very long and we got over half of it done within the second session. Our actor was very cooperative and everything went pretty smooth. The only somewhat difficult part thing was that we didn’t get to film until night time. This made lighting somewhat of an issue but we got past it with minimal issues. This also means that we have to wait until night time next session to start filming so everything lines up well.
