Genre: Thriller Common camera angles I have seen in this genre are high and low angles, however high angles are more common as they convey shock and fear in thrillers. Dutch angles are also frequent in thrillers to generate an uneasy feeling or that something is ominous. Eye-level angles are frequently used with zooms to create tension or show emotion, for example, it could be used to show fear in someone's eyes. Camera movements in thrillers that I have seen most prominently is tracking which could show someone being following. Zooms are also used as they could seem unnatural or artificial, making them perfect for thrillers. Pans and tilts are also used to show scenes and characters, but from what I have seen, tracking and zooms are more common. Camera shots I have seen in thriller movies are establishing shots, wide shots, medium close-ups, long shots, medium shots, close-ups, extreme close-ups, arial shots, two-shots, and over the shoulder shots. This is a new Netflix movie about a detective investigating a murder that links back to a bunch of corruption with in the police force and the fbi. While this definitely wasn’t my favorite movie I liked the plot of it and I could definitely take a few notes on the way they developed the characters throughout the movie. While i know i won’t be making a full movie it still helps me to see how I would go about making the a full movie. I think this way of thinking will help bring a lot more depth to our final project instead of just piecing something together without thinking about the full picture. Over all I didnt really like this movie and I think there is a lot from it I’d like to leave out of my project. However they did a good job on some aspects like keeping the viewer guessing what will happen next.
I’ve finally finished up my commercial. It took a bit of tweaking to get it to where I’d like it to be but I’m happy with how it turned out. To finish up I rly just worked on editing, mostly timing. I wanted to match the song with the pictures and the pictures with the transitions. I had to add another beginning screen so that the beat drop of the song came in at the same time as my first picture. I did a similar thing with the videos. I tried to make it so that the ending of the video aids to the transition. For instance I tried use a clap in the video to transition into the next picture. I did this by ending the video as the clap happened then adding a transition. I liked how this came out. I did however have to tweak it a lot. I had my friend look at the commercial and they said they liked it. They gave me a few minor adjustments that I didn’t see like making sure adjusting the length that the pictures were on screen. All in all I’m proud of how my commercial turned out.
